               metres, with some activity on 40 metres. Look for him

               from Blanquilla Island by the "4M5DX Group" with following

               meters, using CW, SSB and the Digital modes. The dates may
               undergo a small change due to the Navy of Venezuela, which

               This will be a holiday style activity with activity

               radios. They will work mainly in CW on 80-10 m (also some

               from Sao Vicente by IK2NCJ, will once again be active from
               the D4C Contest station. This time he will have YL2KL with
               him for the Worked All Europe CW Contest (August 9-10th)

               the SARTG World Wide RTTY Contest (August 16-17th).
               He will be watching 6 meters while there. The 6 meter
               beacon runs 40 watts and the beacon will be on 50.034 MHz

               Celebrating the Games of the XXIX Olympiad to be held
               in Beijing. Expect activity on 40-6 metres, mainly SSB,

- 17/9         CHINA; BT1OB, BT1OJ, BT1OH, BT1OY and BT1ON
               Five Beijing Olympic Games special event stations will be
               active from 18 May through 17 September. The five special
               callsigns will represent the five colours of the Olympic
               flag: BT1OB (for Beibei, blue), BT1OJ (for Jingjing, black),
               BT1OH (for Huanhuan, red), BT1OY (for Yingying, yellow) and
               BT1ON (for Nini, green). The QSL manager for all of them

               by VU2PTT, including the IARU Contest as the HQ station
               on 80-10 meters using CW and SSB. He has permission to use
               this callsign end of September 2008. Look for this special
               callsign possibly in other contests as well. As usual, all
               QSOs will be uploaded to the ARRL’s Logbook of the World
               (LoTW) and QSL requests may be made to VU2PTT direct
               (QRZ.COM) or via the ARSI Bureau. Please use the current
               IRC for direct requests, green stamps have a habit of
               disappearing in the postal system along with your QSL card.
               It is also not legal in India to send or receive currency
               by postal mail, and the recipient can get into trouble.

               the Polish base "Henryk Arctowski" on King George Island

               On 15 May the Malaysian Communications & Multimedia
               Commission issued the following special callsigns to
               celebrate 100 Years of Scouting in Malaysia:
               for West Malaysia 9M1CSA, 9M1CSB, 9M1CSC, 9M1CSD, 9M1CSF,
               9M1CSI, 9M1CSJ, 9M1CSK, 9M1CSM, 9M1CSN, 9M1CSP (Penang
               Island, AS-015), 9M1CSR, 9M1CST, 9M1CSW, 9M1CSY and 9M1CSZ;
               for East Malaysia 9M1CSQ and 9M1CSS. They will be used
               especially during JOTA events. The first one (Malaysia
               Jamboree On The Air) was held on 17-18 May, the Asia
               Pacific JOTA and the World JOTA will follow on 2-3 August
               and 18-19 October respectively. The national society
               (MARTS) provides QSL Bureau service to all 9M1CSx stations.

- 31/12        CYPRUS; C4EURO
               On 1 January 2008 the official currency of the Republic
               of Cyprus will change from the Cyprus Pound to the Euro.
               To celebrate this historic event, members of the Pafos
               District of the Cyprus Amateur Radio Society will use the
               call C4EURO throughout 2008. Expect activity on the HF and

               including activity from the island lighthouse during the

               from the lighthouse at Puerto del Buceo (West Breakwater,
               ARLHS URU-014) from about 20 UTC on 15 August through the
               17th by The Radio Club Uruguayo. Expect activity on 160-15
               metres CW and SSB with at least two stations, and on the

               from Bou-Saada and possibly other locations in the Algerian
               Sahara by DB1JAW. Activity will be on 80-10 meters, but
               with a focus on 20/17/12 meters using SSB and PSK31.

               envelopes.

4/10 - 10/10   SENEGAL; 6V7SPACE
               The Senegalese SNRASEC ARC (6W7PCT) will activate the
               special callsign 6V7SPACE during the Space Week.
               A rendezvous is scheduled on October 4th for an air
               meeting between a class at the Grandcour school
               (Switzerland, Fribourg Canton) and the Scientific Club
               of the College IV of Mbour (Senegal). Radio and SSTV

7/10 - 27/10   AMERICAN SAMOA; KH8/DL2AH OC-077
               from Manua Islands by DL2AH. Operations will be holiday
               style with activity on 40-10 meters, mainly SSB with some

               high power stations for about 17 days from 160-10 meters

12/10 - 25/10  MALDIVES; 8Q7AK AS-013
               from the Island of Embudu in the Kaafu Atoll by G7COD,
               will once again be active for the fifth time, between
               0800z, October 12th and 0800z, October 25th. Activity
               will be on 40-12 meters using CW and SSB. He plans to be
               operational every day from approximately 0730-0830z,
               0900-1030z, 1300-1500z and 1730-1745z.

               by ON7YK. Activity will be on 80-10 meters, perhaps also
               160 m, using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. He will only have
               100 watts and will use a Spiderbeam for 20/17/15/12/10 m
               and a dipole for 80/40/30 meters. This will be a holiday

16/10 - 28/10  SAINT BARTHELEMY; TO5DX
               by AA4NN, K4ZLE, W8CAA (YL), W8GEX, KØRH and possibly
               others. The group plans to have three stations on the air
               on all HF bands, using CW and SSB. They will also be in
               the CQ WW DX SSB Contest as a Multi-Single entry.

16/10 - 30/10  ST. LUCIA; J68WI
               by WB5ZAM. Activity will be on 30-10 meters as the bands
               allow, and 6 meters if open. QSL via WB5ZAM.

18/10          USA; N3G and N3G/AM
               Activity is to commemorate the 69th anniversary of USCG
               Auxiliary. Suggested frequencies are: 7.035, 14.055,
               50.135 and 146.520 MHz. Look for N3G/AM to be on 6 meters
               between 1300-2200z on 50.135 MHz. Equipment is an

18/10 - 19/10  EAST MALAYSIA / WEST MALAYSIA; 9M1
               18 different 9M1 stations will hit the airwaves during
               the World JOTA. More details can be found at

               While 9M1CSQ on Sarawak and 9M1CSS on Sabah will be the
               only stations in East Malaysia, all others will be situated
               in West Malaysia: 9M1CSA (Perak), 9M1CSN (Negeri Sembilan),
               9M1CSB (Sungai Besar), 9M1CSP (Penang), 9M1CSC (Pahang),
               9M1CSD (Kelantan), 9M1CSR (Perlis), 9M1CSF (Muar Johor),
               9M1CSI (Segamat), 9M1CST (Terengganu), 9M1CSJ (Johor
               Bahru), 9M1CSW (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur),
               9M1CSK (Kedah), 9M1CSY (Cyberjaya secondary school),

20/10 - 3/11   PAPUA NEW GUINEA; P29VLR OC-181 and P29NI OC-041
               from Garove Island (OC-181) on 20-26 October and
               Hermit Islands (OC-041) on 28 October to 3 November
               by AD6E, CT1AGF, G3KHZ, K6HFA and W5GAI, plus one non-ham
               traveller. The final leg will be to Manus Island (OC-025),
               from where there may be some operation before the team
               fly home.

21/10 - 26/10  NICARAGUA; H7
               by Mike/AJ9C, KE9I and YN2N during the CQ WW DX SSB Contest
               as a Multi-Single entry. QSL via AJ9C. Mike/AJ9C is
               expected to be active outside of the contest
               on 160-6 meters, CW, SSB and RTTY.

22/10 - 31/10  ST. KITTS & NEVIS; V4/W5JON NA-104
               from St. Kitts. Activity will be on 160-6 meters SSB
               and will include the CQ WW SSB Contest (October 25-26th).
               The QTH is on a mountain top with a 330 degree view.
               Equipment will be: ICOM IC-7000, RM Italy KL-400 Amplifier
               (400 Watts), Alpha Delta 10-160 Meter Dipoles and 3 Element
               Yagi on 6 meters.

23/10 - 26/10  BAHAMAS; C6AXD and C6APR NA-113
               from Crooked Island by K3IXD (C6AXD, RTTY) and W2GJ
               (C6APR, CW and SSB). Look for C6APR to participate in the
               CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL for both calls via K3IXD.

23/10 - 28/10  EASTERN KIRIBATI; T32CXX and T32DAS
               from Christmas Island (Kiritimati) by NYØV and KØDAS will
               be heading. Activity will include the CQ WW SSB Contest
               and they plan to use T32CXX as a Multi/Single entry in
               Zone 31 over the contest weekend. QSL T32CXX via WØCXX
               and T32DAS via KØDAS.

24/10 - 31/10  NIUE; ZK2DF OC-040
               by N1EMC. Activity will be on 40 meters, 20-6 meters.
               He plans to be in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest as
               a Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL via N1EMC.

25/10 - 26/10  CQ WW SSB Contest

29/10 - 9/11   TONGA; A3
               by DL2AH. Operations will be holiday style with activity
               on 40-10 meters, mainly SSB with some RTTY. He will use
               a FT897 and Windom antenna. QSL via DL2AH, direct
               (see QRZ.com) or by the bureau.

6/11 - 25/11   GRENADA; J3/hc
               by DL7CM and DM2AYO. Activity will be on 160-6 meters,
               CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK. They plan to have two stations
               on the air with 750 watts, yagis and GP. QSL via their

17/11 - 6/2    WEST MALAYSIA: 9M2MRS AS-105
               from Penang Island by PAØRRS. QSL via home call.

               by K9GY. He plans to be active during the
               CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 29-30th) as a
               Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. He is hoping to
               receive the callsign YN2M for the contest, otherwise
               he will use H7/K9GY. Direct QSLs are "OK" via CBA.

25/11 - 3/12   SAINT BARTHELEMY; FJ/WJ2O
               during the CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 29-30th)
               as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. "I will probably
               operate 100% CW. I enjoy the WARC bands outside the contest
               and getting up early to see if I can hear JA’s on 40 m and
               then Europe on 17 m." QSL direct only via his home callsign.

26/11 - 1/12   EL SALVADOR; YS/K9GY
               He plans to be in the CQ WW DX CW Contest as a

               by OZ8KR, activity will be on 40-10 meters SSB using
               a FT-857 and wire antennas. His QTH will be Bakuto on

17/1 - 31/1    FALKLAND IS.; VP8YLx SA-002
               YL operators will be active, using VP8YLx callsigns, with
               the third character of the suffix assigned to each lady at

               from Pulau Layang Layang, Spratly Islands by a team of six
               operators. Team members so far is 9M6XRO, 9M6DXX, SM5GMZ,
               W5SL and 9V1YC. Activity will be on 10-80 metres CW, SSB
               and RTTY using three stations, two with full legal limit
