               special event station marks the 91st Lions Clubs
               International Convention held in Bangkok, Thailand.
               The station is managed by officers and members of the
               Radio Amateur of Thailand under the royal patronage of
               "His Majesty the King" and is located in the convention’s
               exhibit hall at the IMPACT Convention Center, Muang Thong

               Activity will be 6 meters only from a mountain top
               30 miles NE of Fairbanks with an outstanding view in all

               Distance to London is 4200 miles, 4000 to Frankfurt,
               4100 miles to Tokoyo. He will use 800 watts and a big

               on vacation in Qingdao operating during his spare time

               to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong’s
               reunification with China, Hong Kong stations have been
               authorized to use the special prefix VR1Ø in replacement
               of VR2.

               by DJ5MR is currently there teaching at the "Butende
               Technical School" near Masaka, 120 km north of Kampala
               City. Activity is expected to be mainly on 40 and 20 meters
               SSB. Most of his activity so far has been on 20 meters on
               various frequencies (mostly 14250 kHz) between 1700-2100z.
               He is only using a dipole and 100 watts. QSL via Albert,

               By K4BI and K2ZD are planning a major 6 m DXpedition here.
               They will be running an ACOM amp into a 6M5X. Look for
               them on 50.105 MHz. Their beacon will be on 50.095 MHz.
               Emphasis will again be EU, AF, SA and AS, but will of
               course work NA. They will have HF capability but don’t
               plan on being there very much or very often. QSL via

               Special event call sign will be aired to commemorate the
               400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec City by Samuel

               sites marking the passage of Champlain during his first

               Special event station to celebrate the 50th anniversary

               he is active on 20 metres with 100 watts and a dipole,
               but he hopes to put up a 5-band beam for 10, 12, 15, 17

               To celebrate the upcoming Beijing Olympic 2008, the
               Equestrian event and the Hong Kong Island Scout Olympic,
               will be active. QSL via VR2HKS.

- 17/9         CHINA; BT1OB, BT1OJ, BT1OH, BT1OY and BT1ON
               Five Beijing Olympic Games special event stations will be
               active from 18 May through 17 September. The five special
               callsigns will represent the five colours of the Olympic
               flag: BT1OB (for Beibei, blue), BT1OJ (for Jingjing, black),
               BT1OH (for Huanhuan, red), BT1OY (for Yingying, yellow) and
               BT1ON (for Nini, green). The QSL manager for all of them

- 31/12        MALAYSIA; 9M
               On 15 May the Malaysian Communications & Multimedia
               Commission issued the following special callsigns to
               celebrate 100 Years of Scouting in Malaysia:
               for West Malaysia 9M1CSA, 9M1CSB, 9M1CSC, 9M1CSD, 9M1CSF,
               9M1CSI, 9M1CSJ, 9M1CSK, 9M1CSM, 9M1CSN, 9M1CSP (Penang
               Island, AS-015), 9M1CSR, 9M1CST, 9M1CSW, 9M1CSY and 9M1CSZ;
               for East Malaysia 9M1CSQ and 9M1CSS. They will be used
               especially during JOTA events. The first one (Malaysia
               Jamboree On The Air) was held on 17-18 May, the Asia
               Pacific JOTA and the World JOTA will follow on 2-3 August
               and 18-19 October respectively. The national society
               (MARTS) provides QSL Bureau service to all 9M1CSx stations.

- 31/12        CYPRUS; C4EURO
               On 1 January 2008 the official currency of the Republic
               of Cyprus will change from the Cyprus Pound to the Euro.
               To celebrate this historic event, members of the Pafos
               District of the Cyprus Amateur Radio Society will use the
               call C4EURO throughout 2008. Expect activity on the HF and

               to be activated by Pete/VE3IKV, Dick/K5AND, Chris/W3CMP,
               and Bill/W4TAA. Activity will be on CW and SSB. The fixed
               6 m station in FN93 will have 800 watts into a 7 element
               beam up 40 ft. A portable 6 m station in GN03 will have
               100 watts into a 5 element beam up 30 ft. The callsign and

               a mainly 6 meter Dxpedition. There may be some night time

               into a 2 element 6 m yagi, and a dipole for HF. Their QTH
               is 370 m high, looking over the ocean just about 900 m
               away. Possible operation from PJ7 on Dutch St. Maarten

               from St. Kitts. Activity will be on 160-6 meters SSB
               and will include the CQ WW SSB Contest (October 25-26th).
               The QTH is on a mountain top with a 330 degree view.
               Equipment will be: ICOM IC-7000, RM Italy KL-400 Amplifier
               (400 Watts), Alpha Delta 10-160 Meter Dipoles and 3 Element
               Yagi on 6 meters.

23/10 - 28/10  EASTERN KIRIBATI; T32CXX and T32DAS
               from Christmas Island (Kiritimati) by NYØV and KØDAS will
               be heading. Activity will include the CQ WW SSB Contest
               and they plan to use T32CXX as a Multi/Single entry in
               Zone 31 over the contest weekend. QSL T32CXX via WØCXX
               and T32DAS via KØDAS.

25/10 - 26/10  CQ WW SSB Contest

29/10 - 9/11   TONGA; A3
               by DL2AH. Operations will be holiday style with activity
               on 40-10 meters, mainly SSB with some RTTY. He will use
               a FT897 and Windom antenna. QSL via DL2AH, direct
               (see QRZ.com) or by the bureau.

6/11 - 25/11   GRENADA; J3/hc
               by DL7CM and DM2AYO. Activity will be on 160-6 meters,
               CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK. They plan to have two stations
               on the air with 750 watts, yagis and GP. QSL via their

7/11 - 12/12   RODRIGUEZ I.; 3B9 AF-017

17/11 - 6/2    WEST MALAYSIA: 9M2MRS AS-105
               from Penang Island by PAØRRS. QSL via home call.

22/11 - 1/12   NICARAGUA; YN
               by K9GY. He plans to be active during the
               CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 29-30th) as a
               Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. He is hoping to
               receive the callsign YN2M for the contest, otherwise
               he will use H7/K9GY. Direct QSLs are "OK" via CBA.

25/11 - 3/12   SAINT BARTHELEMY; FJ/WJ2O
               during the CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 29-30th)
               as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. "I will probably
               operate 100% CW. I enjoy the WARC bands outside the contest
               and getting up early to see if I can hear JA’s on 40 m and
               then Europe on 17 m." QSL direct only via his home callsign.

26/11 - 1/12   EL SALVADOR; YS/K9GY
               He plans to be in the CQ WW DX CW Contest as a
               Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. QSL via LoTW.

29/11 - 30/11  CQ WW DX CW CONTEST

25/1 - 13/2    SIERRA LEONE; 9L AF-056
               from Sherbro Island by I1HJT, I2YSB, IK1AOD, IK2CIO,
               IK2CKR, IK2DIA and IK2HKT. Further information is expected

1/3-14/3 2009  EAST MALAYSIA; 9M6 AS-051
               from Pulau Layang Layang, Spratly Islands by a team of six
               operators. Team members so far is 9M6XRO, 9M6DXX, SM5GMZ,
               W5SL and 9V1YC. Activity will be on 10-80 metres CW, SSB
               and RTTY using three stations, two with full legal limit
               linear amplifiers. Callsign to be confirmed and QSL
               information via M3SDE, direct or bureau.
