on the "new one" reference for the Italian Islands Award IIA CT-003
(MIA MI-334 - IOTA EU-025). The group of islands is "the faraglioni of

               from the jungle in eastern Costa Rica. He will operate
               mostly on 20 metres, with some 17 and 15 m activity at
               scattered times.

               will operate from the QTH of 6W7RV and activity is planned
               on 10-160 metres CW and SSB with two stations equipped with
               one amplifier, monoband yagis for 10, 15 and 20 metres and

               from Diego Garcia by ND9M mainly on 10-80 metres CW.
               He must QRT by 16.30 UTC on Sundays through Thursdays,
               and by 17.30 UTC on Fridays and Saturdays. "I will
               occasionally stay overnight to work early morning DX",
               he says, but "even if I do stay overnight, I have to QRT

               by DL1MJF including a one week side trip to Koh Samui
               (AS-101, Apr 20th through 24th). He will be using
               100 watts on 40-10 metres CW and SSB. QSL via home call.

- 28/4         SOLOMON ISLANDS; H44MS OC-047
               from Honiara, on Guadalcanal Island by DL2GAC, also count
               for WLOTA LH-0086. DL2NUD will be joining him until

               Special station active on all bands and modes celebrating
               the first mission to space by a Korean astronaut,
               Yi So-yeon, DS3SYL. She will be on a Russian flight to the
               International Space Station, whose launch is scheduled for

               Members of the Club Radio Amateur de Quebec, Inc., (CRAQ)
               will activate special event station VC2VQ. Activity is to

               to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong’s
               reunification with China, Hong Kong stations have been
               authorized to use the special prefix VR1Ø in replacement
               of VR2.

               from Kabul. He is regularly working for about two hours
               starting around 0830 UTC. His equipment consists of
               a FT-897D with 100 watts and a folded dipole. He has been
               spotted in CW on 20 m already. QSLs via his homecall,

               by CT1BXT. His preferred mode is RTTY; for the time being
               he is active on 20 metres with 100 watts and a dipole,
               but he hopes to put up a 5-band beam for 10, 12, 15, 17

               on all bands and to celebrate the International Polar Year

               the Polish base "Henryk Arctowski" on King George Island

- 31/12        CYPRUS; C4EURO
               On 1 January 2008 the official currency of the Republic
               of Cyprus will change from the Cyprus Pound to the Euro.
               To celebrate this historic event, members of the Pafos
               District of the Cyprus Amateur Radio Society will use the
               call C4EURO throughout 2008. Expect activity on the HF and
               VHF bands, SSB, CW and digital modes. QSL via 5B4AGC.

9/4 - 15/4     SYRIA; YK9G
               by G3SXW, G3TXF, G4BWP, G5LP and GM3YTS will operate CW
               only from Damascus. Two stations with amplifiers will be
               QRV full-time. The team will have antennas for all bands
               (160-10 m), but 40-17 metres are likely to provide most
               openings. They will transmit on frequencies ending in ’3’

9/4 - 15/4     MICRONESIA; V63JY, V63JQ and V63VE OC-012
               from Yap by JA1JQY (V63JY), JA1KJW (V63JQ) and JA8VE
               (V63VE). They will have three transceivers and one small
               amplifier, with dipoles for 160-30 metres and beams for
               the other bands. Expect V63JQ (QSL via JA1KJW) and V63JY
               (QSL via JA1JQY) to operate CW, while V63VE
               (QSL via JF1OCQ) will operate SSB and RTTY.

9/4 - 24/4     MAURITIUS; 3B8/SP2JMB AF-049
               mostly CW.

9/4 - 28/4     KAMPUCHEA; XU7ADV
               by ON6NP. He will operate on SSB, PSK31 and RTTY.

12/4 - 13/4    USA; WØS
               To commemorate the 96th anniversary of the sinking of the
               Titanic. Operators is WAØSAP, KB9YZE, WØERE and KØADI.
               They will be active on the HF bands CW/SSB, packet, Dstar
               and 2 m. QSL via operator’s instructions.

12/4 - 12/5    PHILIPPINES; DU9/PA3GZU OC-130
               from Mindanao Island (WLOTA LH-2803, WW Loc. PJ27UH).
               Activity will be mainly 20 meters (SSB - 14260 kHz and
               BPSK31 14070 kHz). Operations will be limited because
               Maarten is on holiday. Most activity is expected during
               the end of April and first week of May. QSL via his home
               callsign, bureau is preferred.

14/4 - 17/4    AGALEGA & ST. BRANDON; 3B6FQ AF-001
               from Agalega Islands by 3B8FQ. He will activate for
               48-72 hours between 14 and 17 April. This will be a working
               trip. Time will be shared with maintenance duties on the
               island, but Rachid will be as active as possible when not
               on duty. He will operate primarily on SSB, with some CW,
               on 10-80 metres. Operations are expected to begin around
               18.30 UTC on 14 April. QSL via K5XK.

16/4 - 19/4    PALAU; T88JY, T88KJ and T88VE OC-009
               by JA1JQY (T88JY), JA1KJW (T88KJ) and JA8VE (T88VE).
               They will have three transceivers and one small amplifier,
               with dipoles for 160-30 metres and beams for the other
               bands. Expect T88JY and T88KJ to operate CW, while T88VE
               will operate SSB and RTTY. QSL via home calls.

16/4 - 24/4    ARUBA; P4ØZB SA-036
               by K9WZB and K7WZB. They will operate CW, SSB and RTTY
               on 40, 20, 17, 15, 10 and 6 metres. QSL direct to K9WZB.

17/4 - 5/5     SENEGAL; 6V7K and 6V7J
               requested calls by SP9MRO and SP9CTT. They will operate
               CW, SSB, PSK31 and RTTY on 160-10 metres, with an emphasis
               on 160-30 metres. QSL 6V7K via SP9SX, QSL 6V7J via SP9CTT.

18/4 - 21/4    GUAM; K1HP/KH2 OC-026
               by JE2EHP. He plans to operate CW/SSB on all the HF bands
               and 6 metres. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.

19/4 - 20/4    CANADA; VE3KF
               from Manitoulin Island BY VE3KF, VE3ZF and VE3KAO.

20/4 - 23/4    USA; NU2L and W6/MØBLF NA-066 and NA-144
               from Santa Catalina (NA-066, from 23 UTC on 20 April
               to 20 UTC on the 21st) and Santa Cruz (NA-144, from
               20 UTC on 22 April to 22 UTC on the 23rd) by G3ZAY (NU2L)
               and MØBLF (W6/MØBLF). QSL via home calls.

21/4 - 27/4    AMERICAN SAMOA; AH8/W9EYE
               He will be there to do some missionary eye surgery, and he
               hopes to be active in his spare time. He will try all bands
               80-10 metres high power as propagation allows, SSB and
               hopefully RTTY. QSL via home call.

23/4 - 30/4    VIRGIN IS.; KP2/W5IF NA-106
               from St Croix and the WP2Z super station. He plans to put
               a "strong emphasis" on 30, 12, 17 metres and RTTY. QSL via
               home call, direct or bureau.

24/4 - 27/4    CUBA; T47C NA-086
               from Cayo Romano by CO2WL, CO3VK, CO3LF, CO7SF, CO7RR
               and CO7GG. They plan to operate CW (1830, 3505, 7010,
               10110, 14020, 18070, 21010, 24895 and 28020 kHz),
               SSB (1850, 3720, 7050, 14200, 18145, 21250, 24940
               and 28490 kHz) and RTTY (7035, 14080, 18100 and 21080).

May            MARION I.; ZS8T AF-021
               by ZS6GCM (3YØE) during his one year stay. He will be
               active on 160/80/40/30/20/17/12/10 metres CW, SSB and RTTY.
               He is expected to be QRV by May, depending on his work

               by G3ZVW. He plans to operate CW, SSB and RTTY mainly

2/5 - 23/5     BHUTAN; A52TL
               by OZ1TL. He plans to operate 99% CW on all bands.

6/5 - 6/6      GLORIOSO; TO4G AF-011
               The expedition is likely to start between 5-9 May and
               remain active "for some weeks". The operators (5U5U, F5CQ,
               F5CW, F5CWU, F5IRO, F5OGL, F5PRU, F5PTM and TT8SS) will try
               to have three or four stations on the air, 160-6 meters,
               CW, SSB and the Digital modes. The web site for the

               by K9WZB and K7WZB will operate CW, SSB and RTTY on

               from Malolo Lailai Island in the Mamanuca Group by
               VK4AN, VK4FRAJ and possibly others. Activity will be
               on 160-6 meters including 30/17/12 m, CW, SSB, PSK31
               and RTTY. They also plan to be in the CQ WW WPX CW Contest

21/5 - 26/5    BAHAMAS; C6AYM NA-001
               from Nassau, New Providence Island, by K9GY. Activity will
               be on 80-6 meters, CW and SSB. Also look for him during the
               CQ WW WPX CW Contest (May 24-25th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/

21/5 - 28/5    TURKS & CAICOS; VP5/KØOK NA-002
               from Providenciales Island. He will participate in the
               CQ WPX CW Contest (May 24-25th) using the callsign VP5E.
               Activity outside of the contest will be on all bands.

27/5 - 29/5    MACAO; XX9

               Activity will be holiday style on CW on the HF bands.

June           TIMOR-LESTE; 4W OC-148
               URE’s Radiosolidarity Department will organize an Amateur
               Radio DXpedition, combined with activities to promote
               Amateur Radio including the donation and setting up of
               a complete amateur radio station at the University of Dili.
               From Dili by EA1QF, EA3CUU, EA4DB, EA4KA, EA5BWR and CT1ERC.
               They plan to operate CW, SSB and other modes using two
               stations, and to pay special attention to 6 metres.

7/6 - 8/6      SEANET CONTEST

11/6 - 23/6    MAYOTTE; FH/DK7LX AF-027
               will be active holiday style, CW on all bands with an
               emphasis on 30, 40 and 80 metres using vertical arrays
               as well as dipoles. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.

18/6 - 30/6    ALASKA; KL7/W6JKV
               Activity will be 6 meters only from a mountain top
               30 miles NE of Fairbanks with an outstanding view in all
               directions (Grid Loc. BP64). Altitude is 2500 feet.
               Distance to London is 4200 miles, 4000 to Frankfurt,
               4100 miles to Tokoyo. He will use 800 watts and a big
               antenna. QSL via his home callsign.

19/6 - 21/6    HONG KONG; VR2/VK2CCC
               by LY1F (VK2CCC). Activity will be holiday style on CW
               on the HF bands. QSL route to be announced later.

25/6 - 5/7     SABLE I.; CYØX (FN93) and CYØRA (GN03) NA-063
               to be activated by Pete/VE3IKV, Dick/K5AND, Chris/W3CMP,
               and Bill/W4TAA. Activity will be on CW and SSB. The fixed
               6 m station in FN93 will have 800 watts into a 7 element
               beam up 40 ft. A portable 6 m station in GN03 will have
               100 watts into a 5 element beam up 30 ft. The callsign and

               During the IARU Contest, look for FP/KV1J (running low
               power) and FP/W1MAT (running QRP) from Zone 9. QSL via

               CW, SSB, PSK and RTTY on 160-6 metres with two stations.

               from Chuginadak Island in the Islands of Four Mountains
               (Grid AO52) by N3QQ, KE7V and UA9OBA, IOTA Contest included.

30/7 - 4/8     CANADA; VE3LYC/VO2 and G3OCA/VO2 NA-194 and NA-205
               from two most wanted IOTA groups, Finger Hill Island
               (NA-194) and Paul Island (NA-205). They intend to be QRV
               for three days from each island, with two stations on the
               air from 6 to 40 metres, CW and SSB. QSL via VE3LYC, direct
               or bureau (stations in the UK can confirm via G3OCA).

15/8 - 17/8    CANADA; VE5LGT
               Lighthouse operation from Cochin Lighthouse (ILLW CA0013)
               by VE5EL and VE5MC. They will have two stations on the air
               with 100 watts, SSB only, using dipoles and vertical

               stations for about 17 days from 160-10 meters on CW, SSB

               from from a couple of Most Wanted IOTAs, Witu Islands

18/10 - 6/11   MAURITIUS; 3B8 AF-049

22/10 - 31/10  ST. KITTS & NEVIS; V4/W5JON NA-104
               from St. Kitts. Activity will be on 160-6 meters SSB
               and will include the CQ WW SSB Contest (October 25-26th).
               The QTH is on a mountain top with a 330 degree view.
               Equipment will be: ICOM IC-7000, RM Italy KL-400 Amplifier
               (400 Watts), Alpha Delta 10-160 Meter Dipoles and 3 Element
               Yagi on 6 meters.
