               from South Molle Island by GØUIH. The main operation will
               be centered around 14260 kHz, but with some possibility of
               15/17 meters operations. His equipment will be an IC-706MK2G

               A multi-national team of operators hosted by PZ5RA (OHØXX,
               SV8CS, YV5SSB, YV5TX, EA8CAC, XE1KK, LU8ADX) is expected
               to have three stations active on 160-6 metres CW, SSB and

               He is going to try 80 meters but with only just 100 watts,
               and he doesn’t know how successful he will be. He will also

               Activity will be on 160-10 meters, SSB, CW, Digital modes,
               SSTV and FM. They plan to have 5 stations on the air around
               the clock. They will use IC7000, FT480 and TS857D,
               with 4 Spiderbeam, 2 verticals and 3 dipoles. They will

               Activity is usually on 80-10 meters on CW, SSB and RTTY.

               because of his busy work-related schedule during the first
               two weeks, Tony will be able to operate full time only from
               15 December, hopefully until end of January. Updates

               from Tijoco Bajo, Tenerife Island by ON5JV and ON6AK.
               Activity will be mainly on 20 and 40 meters during their
               evenings. QSL via their home callsigns, bureau is preferred.

- 14/2         BOUVET; 3YØE AN-002
               by ZS6GCM (medical officer) as member of a five man
               Norwegian led research team has been heard between 15-17 UTC
               (these times can change without notice). The callsign
               (3YØE) was issued on 19 December. He has an Icom IC-735 and
               a Hustler 4-BTV vertical antenna, but limited HF experience.
               He was given a brief training session on operating
               procedures a couple of days prior to departure. He expects
               to be active on the amateur radio bands as time and

               from the South African Antarctic base SANAE IV
               (Vesleskarvet) by ZS6WLC. He expects to operate SSB on
               14180 kHz and AM on 14280 kHz; CW will be supported using

               Krugersdorp 1740, South Africa. ZS7BYRD will be
               a commemorative station for Admiral Richard E. Byrd’s
               1930 and 1934 expeditions, where they used the McMurdo
               Silver crystal circuit for selectivity and the Collins
               pioneered class B AM modulator for the first voice
               transmissions to the USA from Antartica respectively.

               by F4FMI. Activity will be on 20/17/15 meters SSB.

               He must QRT by 16.30 UTC on Sundays through Thursdays,
               and by 17.30 UTC on Fridays and Saturdays. "I will
               occasionally stay overnight to work early morning DX",
               he says, but "even if I do stay overnight, I have to QRT

               to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong’s
               reunification with China, Hong Kong stations have been
               authorized to use the special prefix VR1Ø in replacement
               of VR2.

               from Kabul. He is regularly working for about two hours
               starting around 0830 UTC. His equipment consists of
               a FT-897D with 100 watts and a folded dipole. He has been
               spotted in CW on 20 m already. QSLs via his homecall,

               by CT1BXT. His preferred mode is RTTY; for the time being
               he is active on 20 metres with 100 watts and a dipole,
               but he hopes to put up a 5-band beam for 10, 12, 15, 17

               on all bands and to celebrate the International Polar Year

- 31/12        CYPRUS; C4EURO
               On 1 January 2008 the official currency of the Republic
               of Cyprus will change from the Cyprus Pound to the Euro.
               To celebrate this historic event, members of the Pafos
               District of the Cyprus Amateur Radio Society will use the
               call C4EURO throughout 2008. Expect activity on the HF and
               VHF bands, SSB, CW and digital modes. QSL via 5B4AGC.

               by a large team of experienced operators. The current
               roster includes DL3DXX, DL6FBL, DL6LAU, DL8LAS, ES5TV,
               K3NA, N5IA, RA3AUU, SP3DOI, SP5XVY, SV1JG, UA3AB and WA6CDR.
               The team expects to reach the island at the local sunrise
               on 9 February and to be QRV not earlier than the local night
               on the 11th. They plan to set up seven stations on two widely
               separated locations, with one 26 m-tall vertical for 160 m,
               five 4-Squares (80, 40 and 30 m), five vertical dipole
               arrays (20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 m) and one 5-element Yagi for
               6 m. Actual QRT time will be dictated by weather and sea
               forecasts; if conditions are good, operations will end on

               160-6 meters SSB. He will use a 80/40 m FD4 antenna and

               activity will include the ARRL DX CW Contest. Outside the

13/2 - 18/2    SURINAME; PZ
               by AC8W, K8DD, KB8TXZ and W5JAY from the QTH of Ramon/PZ5RA.
               Activity will be on all bands 160-10 meters that will
               include the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 16-17th). Operators

13/2 - 23/2    MOROCCO; CN2XW
               by G5XW from various parts of Morocco, from the Atlas
               Mountains across to the coast. He hopes to manage to get
               to IOTA group AF-065 during this time. Equipment will be
               mininum as this is a backpacking holiday. QSL direct to

13/2 - 28/2    OGASAWARA; JD1BLY AS-031
               from Chichijima Island by JI5RPT (JD1BLY) and possibly
               others using JD1 callsigns. Activity will be on 160-6
               meters on CW, SSB, Satellites and Digital modes. They will

               from Pebble Island by DL2AH. Activity will be holiday
               style on 40-10 meters mainly on SSB and RTTY using

22/2 - 29/2    GUYANA; 8R1PW
               by G3SWH and G3RTE. They will operate CW only on 160-10
               metres, and will concentrate on the low bands, and on
               30, 12 and 17 metres (activity on 160 m is possible, but
               will depend upon QRN and site conditions). Propagation
               permitting, they plan to have two stations on the air for

28/2 - 7/3     ST. KITTS & NEVIS; V4 NA-104
               from St. Kitts by W1USN, AA1M and W1SSR. They plan to
               operate CW, SSB and PSK on 160-10 metres.

Early Mar      CLIPPERTON I.; TX5C NA-011
               a team lead by N6OX would be going to Clipperton Island
               sometime in early March 2008, arriving on Clipperton
               around 4 March. Plans are to operate 12-14 days depending
               on conditions, with 100,000+ contacts as a goal.
               The current roster includes N6OX, N7CQQ, K4SV, N2WB,
               N6HC, W8AEF, WA1S, K6SGH, K3VN, K4ZLE, K8LEE, VE7VR,
               F5AHO, F5PAC, AD6E, VA7DX, F6BFH, F5JY, F8FDN, FM5CD

15/3 - 23/3    HONDURAS; HQ8R NA-035
               from the rare Swan Island by a team from the Radio Club
               de Honduras. They are looking for 10 operators to be able
               to work two PHONE stations, one CW and one RTTY/PSK31
               station on 160-10 metres SSB, CW and RTTY/PSK31 with four

16/3 - 30/3    MAURITANIA; 5T
               a German team is planning a DXpedition to Nouakchott,
               Mauritania. The current team of operators are: Rich/DK8YY,
               Rene/DL2JRM, Ralf/DL3JJ, Ingolf/DL4JS, Dan/DL5SE, DL2ARD
               and Andreas/DL7ZZ. They plan to have 3 stations on the air;
               2 with amplifiers. For operations on the low bands
               2 verticals (V160 and V80) will be erected, and on 40 m
               they will use 2 phased verticals. For 30-10 meters, they
               will set up 2 beams, and for the digital station there will
               be another groundplane. They will try to have an online log
               available that will be updated daily via I-net or pactor.

               activity will be on CW/SSB on 160-10 meters.

               by GØVJG. Activity will include the CQ WW WPX SSB Contest

               activity will be on 80-12 meters SSB with some CW.

               will be active holiday style, CW on all bands with an
               emphasis on 30, 40 and 80 metres using vertical arrays

25/6 - 5/7     SABLE I.; CYØX (FN93) and CYØRA (GN03) NA-063
               to be activated by Pete/VE3IKV, Dick/K5AND, Chris/W3CMP,
               and Bill/W4TAA. Activity will be on CW and SSB. The fixed
               6 m station in FN93 will have 800 watts into a 7 element
               beam up 40 ft. A portable 6 m station in GN03 will have
               100 watts into a 5 element beam up 30 ft. The callsign and
               frequencies will be announced later. Other references are:
