8S3SYL; Jemtland Radio Amateurs (SK3JR) will be hosting the
"2007 Scandinavian Young Ladies Radio Amateurs" (SYLRA 2007) meeting,
in Ostersund, Sweden, from August 23-26th. The special callsign for
the meeting is 8S3SYL. On Friday, August 24th, there will be a special
activity by YL operators from SI9AM with two stations active

               the Bahia Blanca DX Group will operate on all bands and
               modes from four different lighthouses for the International
               Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend. Expect them to be using
               LR3DX from Rincon Lighthouse (ARLHS ARG-036), LU3DXG from
               Baliza Tripoede (ARLHS ARG-1884) and LU6XA from Cabo Blanco
               Lighthouse (ARLHS ARG-001) and operators at Recalada
               Lighthouse (ARLHS ARG-009) will be signing homecall/D.

               from the Cape Moreton Lighthouse (ARLH AUS-039) on Moreton
               Island by VK4NDX, VK4HMU and VK4FEAT. Expect activity on

               from Puerto del Buceo-West Breakwater (ARLHS URU-014) from
               about 22 UTC on 17 August until about 1 UTC on the 20th.
               They plan to have at least two stations active on 10-160
               metres CW and SSB. QSL direct to Radio Club Uruguayo,
               P O Box 37, 11000, Montevideo, Uruguay.

               from Taenanji Island by 6K2BWA, DS2GWM, DS2GXU, DS2LLD
               and HL2CFY. They plan to operate CW, SSB and RTTY on
               160-6 metres, using beam antennas and amplifiers.

               activity will be mainly on CW (no bands of activity were

               from the Island of Tenerife by ON6ZK on a holiday operation.
               He will operate from his hotel room with a FT897 with
               25 watts only, mainly on 20 and 17 meters SSB. The antenna
               is a telescopic antenna (only about 1.5 meters in length).
               He will also try to activate the Teide mountain, probably
               on August 18th on 20 meters SSB. QSL via the bureau

               special event station to commemorate the 70th anniversary
               of the first transatlantic experimental commercial flight
               (on July 5, 1937) between Botwood, Newfound, and Foynes,
               Ireland. Activity will be on all bands. QSL is "OK"
               via the Bureau or direct to VO1MX. One of the main
               operators for this event is Jason, VO1JNS.

- 31/8         JAPAN; 8J7VENUS
               celebrating the Sendai Tanabata Festival. This special
               event station will be active on 80-10 metres SSB with
               some digital modes. On 6-8 July, look for 8J7VENUS/7
               to be operated from Tashiro Island (AS-117).

- 31/8         JAPAN; 8J1ESP
               on 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres by PY3DF, JA1FXZ and a group
               from the International League of Esperantists Radio
               Amateurs. On 4-12 August activity will take place from
               the 92nd Esperanto World Conference in Yokohama.

               by W4CK for about two weeks beginning around August 19th.

               from Nukumanu Island (OC-284) is planned by Hans SM6CVX,
               G3KHZ, G4EDG and CT1AGF for activities on all bands CW/SSB
               with three stations. A special permission is needed to be
               able to visit the islands, which as some researchers beleive
               belongs to those that will sink into the ocean in about 5
               years! The expedition will be very expensive, ca 30.000 USD.

               from Takuu Island is planned by Hans, SM6CVX, G3KHZ, G4EDG

               stations. If they get some spare time they will maybe be
               active a few days from Tulun (OC-256) on 6-9 October
               (callsign to be decided). A special permission is needed

               14147, 18133, 21253 and 24953 kHz (+/- 10 kHz to allow
               for QRM). Times of operation will be every day from

               CW and SSB, to raise funds for a charity project in Liberia
               in cooperation with Mercy Ships, and to support the
               Liberia Radio Amateur Association (LRAA) with equipment.

               but it should be VK9L (something). Activity will be
               focused on the low bands, mainly CW and an entry in the

               by G3RWF who will start from Kampala between November
               21-26th. He also plans to be active in the CQ World Wide
               DX CW Contest. Outside of the contest, he will try to
               be active on the low bands and the WARC bands, if conditions

               be centered around 14260 kHz, but with some possibility of
               15/17 meters operations. His equipment will be an IC-706MK2G

February 2008  COCOS I.; TI9
               The next DXpedition to TI9 will depart in February 2008!

11 - 28/2 2008 DUCIE I.; VP6DX OC-182
               is being organized to take place in February 2008 by a
               large team of experienced operators. Landing permissions
               and licences have been granted, and a suitable charter
               vessel has been secured. Activity will be on 160-6 metres
               with seven stations, all Elecraft K3 transceivers with
               ACOM amps. The team is seeking financial contributions
               to help defray the very significant costs of this
               Dxpedition, well over 200,000 USDs. Full details on how

12/2 - 25/2    JAMAICA; 6Y5/MØDXR NA-097
               activity will include the ARRL DX CW Contest. Outside the
               contest he will be active on all bands. QSL via his home

13/2 - 28/2    OGASAWARA; JD1BLY AS-031
               from Chichijima Island by JI5RPT (JD1BLY) and possibly
               others using JD1 callsigns. Activity will be on 160-6
               meters on CW, SSB, Satellites and Digital modes. They will
               focus on 160 and 80 meters. QSL via their home callsigns.

Early Mar 2008 CLIPPERTON I.; FO/C NA-011
               a team lead by N6OX would be going to Clipperton Island
               sometime in early March 2008, planning to operate 12-14
               days depending on conditions. More details will be

18/3 - 7/4     JUAN FERNANDEZ IS.; CEØZ/DL2AH
               activity will be holiday style on 40-10 meters mainly on
