 S O A P B O X:

AA3B Conditions were not good. I was very disappointed by 40M
and things were slow all day Sunday on 20 and 15. I’m
looking forward to better conditions in 1999.
DK1DSA It was my first Contest I took part in, and it was a lot of
fun. Not so many QSOs, but Fun :-))
DL3FWF I happy, that you have published your contest in IARU NEWS
and hope that the CQ-MIR INTERNATIONAL CONTEST also in the
future will be one of the biggest contests world wide.
DL5AUJ I hope, the CONTEST-LOG-Transfer by the Internet will be
OK! Thank you and hpe cuagn in CQ-MIR 1999! Vy 73 -
            Johannes
DL5ZX An UFB contest again! The best wishes from DK3ZX/Dieter!
EA4BOD Poor propagation was in this year. As well, it was a
continuos storm (QRN) at my QTH.
ER1OA Thanks for traditional contest "Peace to the World" to its
            sponsors and to all participants.
ER2A Thanks for the contest. Best wishes from Tiraspol!
F8ADY Like you see, logs are very short, but when I participate
to a contest, I always send my logs. Best wishes from F8ADY
            Mr.Franck
G3ESF Enjoyable contest but no stations heard on 28 MHz band. My
thanks and best wishes to the Contest Committee.
G3UFY Vy FB contest. Sadly I have to work on the Sunday, so can
not operate. HPE CU next year.
G6QQ Age 81. Royal Navy 1939. Sorry QRL family many hours of
Contest so only 140 QSOs. Sorry 10m. no signal
GM3CFS FB contest with lots of activity but not much on SSB hence
only 2 QSOs (one a dupe).
IT9ORA It’s very nice contest, congratulations to committee..73
            from Gianni.
JA1AAT 10M band no good. Next chance for CQM test. 73.
JA1GTF FB Contest.
JA6BIF TNX FB Contest.
KTØR Where were all the operators this year? Conditions seemed
to be fair, but the amount of people operation the contest
seemed to be few. We were especially surprised that there
were not many European operators. We had a great signal
report from LA2PA at about 1900z 10 May, (s9+20 dB), but we
worked very few Europeans after about 0400z 10 May 98.
Signals were great out to the Pacific also (another very
good signal report from JA3CZY at 1400z 10 May 98), but
again, very few contest operators. Who knows, maybe our
signal wasn’t that great, anyway. Sunday (in North America)
the contest turned into a domestic QSO party, which was
still fun, but not very productive. Still, we had a lot of
fun-we like the format & the 24 hour timeframe, & we did
work quite a few Russian/CIS stations. We’ll see you next
            year!
LU1EWL This is my eighteenth participation in CQ-M International
DX Contest and I have enjoyed a lot participating in it.
LY2BIL My first CQ-M was in 1975...
OK1KCB Good weekend contest... GL to next years...
PAØIJM I used 400 Watts at the night and only 10 Watts during the
daytime. It is a nice contest, but I think that activity
from Russian stations could be higher. Hope on more
            stations next year.
PAØMIR Enjoyed participating again; unfortunately not too much
            activity.
PT7BZ Nice to operate the CQ-M contest, I will try to do better
            next year...
RW3FO Against the contest gurus’ teachings, as S&P lover, I tried
new tactics: I changed the band as often as possible within
10-minutes rule. During the contest I made about 80 band
changes. I guess nobody made so much! Perhaps that is why
for the first time I stood up from my chair after 8 hours
of operation, after 1/3 of contest time! This fact shows
how the excitement was high. I wish to see you guys in May
1999 in the next CQ-M Contest.
RW3YA Thanks for the contest, 73!
RW9AB I operated from my "dacha" (country house), I used a short
piece of wire as antenna. Heh, I established new CQ-M
"record" of myself - only 70 QSOs.
RW9SW Many thanks for the contest to everybody. I wish to see you
            in the CQ-M 1999!
RZ3Q Absolute absence of any propagation at our QTH! This year’
contest was not successful for us... But we hope we will
            show worthy score in 1999.
UA1-143-1 During the contest geomagnetic field was disturbed. So in
Murmansk, 69N, within the Polar circle, 1.8 & 28 MHz bands
            were closed absolutely.
UA3-17Ø-1Ø1 Wishes of new successes and great popularity to the CQ-M!
UA4HTT TNX for the nice contest.
UA6LTI Enough! I shall buy PC. Contester’ life becomes impossible
without PC! See you guys in 1999!
UR5U Thanks fer contest!
VK2APK This was my 455th Contest. I used the N6TR contest
programm. Conditions on 20 meters were much better than on
            the other bands.
VU2UR I have enjoyed taking part in this contest for quite some
            time.
WD4AHZ Could only operate a few hours. Conditions were not very
good the times I was on. Hope to be able to do more next
            year.
YU7SF This was my 36th CQ-M contest and my 2008 contest log entry
            at all.
