| Another great CW event and Dave, G4BUO, wins his third Eu Sprint CW. Dave won the Sprint mostly on 40m where he did a superb job. The second place goes to Ged, LY9A, who misses the first place for the third time. Ged was ahead of G4BUO on both 20 and 80 but Dave made 14 QSOs more on 40. The Lithuanians also take home third place with Ted, LY2OX, who is another regular in the top scores. Ted did a great job on the low bands but he only made 85 Qs on 20.
A lot of new faces this year but we missed a lot of regulars. We were surprised to see the top DL station with only 131 QSOs and we had no entries from places like EA, F, PA, LA, OE, UA9, YL, to name a few. We enjoyed seeing several participants belonging to WWYC - World Wide Young Contesters. This is really positive: we welcome the young, fresh blood!
The quality of entries is increasing: we found relatively few errors. These entrants had "Golden Logs" with no mistakes at all: OM5NA, RA3XO and some others only made one or two errors: congratulations!
Starting on November 1, 2002 the Eu Sprint finally has its own web page at this address: <www.qsl.net/eusprint>. Here you will find everything about the Eu Sprint: rules in several languages, results, prizes and software to download. Please visit the page and help us to keep it up. We want your articles about the Eu Sprint, share with us your tactics and secrets!
The UBN and the log of all entrants will be public and available for everyone on our web page, just click on a callsign to see the UBN report and the log. If you have any questions pertaining to the log checking procedure, please dont hesitate to ask.
Thanks for your entry, 73!
