No viruses detected on the received e-mail logs.
But later... about 25 viruses received as a result of the confirmation mails! The virus went trough the in-box and spread as an answer to all unanswered mails - and of course everybody had the confirmation mail as unanswered!
All viruses detected and removed without causing any infection.
Great participation - almost touched the four digit mark on number of logs received! More than two thirds of the logs were received electronically; compared to about 10% when e-mail logs were first introduced by NRRL in 1997. Still lot of manual logs received from the non-scandinavians, so it is still too early to only accept e-mail logs.
Less than half of the e-logs where in Cabrillo format, but still enough to make the log checking very difficult: checking of Cabrillo logs are VERY difficult, and time consuming, without the proper software, and SSA has not been able to provide the promised software. Hence, all log checking has been done manually, in the old fashioned way.
I am aware that the Swedes had this "lets beat the Finns" campaign to increase activity; and it paid of! In number of participants, SM is far ahead of everybody else. On CW SM even had the best country score, even though OH won the Scandinavian Cup (as usual) on better SSB performance. Congratulations!
With the exception of JX, OJØ and OX, all "countries" had at least one participant. The participation from JW, OHØ, OY and TF is very good for the activity, but the non-scandinavians still complains: where are the LA and OZs?
Good luck to EDR with the 2002 contests!
