The change of date to January seems to have been accepted without complaint, and the unique format of this contest attracted a lot of stations to take part. Conditions were not too good on the higher bands, and this kept the overall scores lower than in the 1999 contest for some entrants. The key to good scoring for most stations is to find the balance between multipliers and good rates; although the mults only count once, you cant pick up a winning total by just going for the best rate. The other essential is finding all 6 continents, which wasnt too much trouble with ZS6RVG and a couple of other African stations putting out good signals. Congratulations to all the winners, and especially to S58T for beating the experts. Two British stations in the top ten experts is also good to see. Thanks to all who entered for your support. Vlado 9A3CY: I couldnt get my turn on the radio, my XYL Vesna 9A6ACY did not let me HI! Thank you for very enjoyable contest anyway. Vesna 9A6ACY: It was a pleasure to work with all of you. See you in the next BARTG contest. Rich MMØBYC: Lo power is a challenge, some day Ill have a beam and an amp. (some folks can only dream of your 75 watts, inverted vee and vertical, Rich!!) Jim VE9WH: Tons of fun but real hard trying to pull calls out when they are 4 and 5 deep. Thanks to those who worked me and hung in to get the contact. See you in the next one. Miro S58T: Worked hard all 24 hours. Unusual band conditions, new snow, strong 80m QRN, but anyway many stations worked on 5 bands. Thanks to all! Bill K5YG: Had a great time in my first BARTG RTTY Sprint! Operating 24 hours straight is something else, to say the least. Found it hard to stay awake searching for multipliers early Sunday morning. John GW4KHQ: Certainly felt the pressure of moving into Expert class. Disappointed not to work 6 continents, better luck next time. George W1ZT: Thanks to BARTG for a very interesting and challenging contest. The format is a good balance between seeking new contacts versus multipliers! This was my second try at this event and I need to continue to improve my ability to capture those elusive Japanese multipliers from here in Northeast USA. (nice to see someone really thinking about how to improve their score) John WA9ALS: Great contest THANK YOU! I think the continent multiplier is very interesting makes you sweat a little! Ken GØPCA: Worked more than last year. Good to see more call signs on the screen as well. Saving hard for a Linear Amp, 50W seems to get lost sometimes! Eric F5JKK: A great contest, working all continents in good propagation. Thanks to our trophy sponsors:
