MDXA PSK DeathMatch
"The Friendly 48 Hour International PSK Digital Duel"

Why a 48 hour Digital Duel? This is a DeathMatch, it is not designed to be a walk in the park and it is held only once a year! Only the strong will survive. You may take all the breaks you want but your totals will suffer. Just do your best within the 48 hours and see if you have the right stuff! This is a winner take all contest, good luck and fire up those interfaces. The PSK DeathMatch Sword waits for you!

 Date:

 Exchange:

Name - State/Country.

DX stations send DXCC Country Prefix.

Note: Contesters are NOT interested in your equipment or your weather! Please refrain from including non essential information in your macros!

 Bands:

Operate the standard PSK31/63 frequencies
on 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, 10 & 6 meters.

No WARC bands may be used in this or any Contest!
No Class splitting please.

 Rules:

Single Operator and Single Transmitter.

PSK 31 PSK 63.

Submit your scores (Online)

 Class 1. 2. 3.:

  • Class 1 - 100 Watts
  • Class 2 - 25 Watts
  • Class 3 - QRP 10 Watts or less
    (QRP means your station not the other guys)

Remember: You MUST enter within only one of the above Classes. No Class Mixing! If you do not mention your class when submitting, we will have to contact you.

 Multipliers:

Multipliers = States and DX Entities.

Multipliers are DXCC entities and US States. You get 1 mult per State (per PSK mode) PSK 31 and PSK 63.

For example, you work Michigan on 80M you get one mult on PSK 31 and then one mult for working Michigan PSK 63 thus getting 2 mults for working Michigan on (both) modes of PSK. And yes - Alaska and Hawaii are DX entities!

 Contact Points:

Denote each contact as 31 or 63 when using both 31/63.

  • 1 point each standard contact
  • 2 points QRP (your station not the other guys)
  • 3 points on 6 meters

BONUS POINTS - 1000 POINT MAXIMUM
Contact with our club call W8DXI is worth 500 Bonus Points! You may only claim the W8DXI 500 bonus points (once) using PSK 31 and (once) again on PSK 63 for a grand total (maximum) of 1000 bonus points. After you have the bonus on 31 and 63, contacts with W8DXI count for just 1 point no matter how many (bands) you work us on!

 Scoring:

Contact points × Multipliers for subtotal, then add W8DXI Bonus if worked to the final grand total score!

 Awards:

This is a DeathMatch, Top Score takes the DeathMatch Sword!

First place winners in the QRP and 25 Watt class will also be listed on site and E-mail notices will be sent to them. Officers of the MDXA using our club call W8DXI are not eligible! Sword to be awarded at Dayton or shipped.

Bonus Points to be added (after ) you total your mults!

W8DXI (500 Bonus Points) may be claimed only once PSK 31 and once again for PSK 63 during the Contest, no matter what band, for a bonus maximum of 1000 points! After you have the Bonus, W8DXI counts as a (single point) on each band.
