Time:

Contest runs from 1400 until 2400 UTC (8 AM to 6 PM CST) 2 February 2002 Single Operator stations may only work 8 hours; Multi Operator / Single Transmitter & Mobile stations may work the entire 10 hours of the contest.

QSO Rules:

MN stations work everyone, all other W/VE & DX work MN stations. Work stations once per band & mode. MN mobiles may be worked once per band & mode from each county, & MN mobiles may work stations once per band & mode from each county.

Bands/Modes:

HF classes 160 m - 10 m (excluding WARC bands), CW/RTTY/SSB only. VHF class 6 m / 2 m CW/FM/SSB only (no repeater QSOs allowed).

Exchange:

MN stations send name & county (two letter designator). ** NOTE ** MN Mobile stations must sign callsign with county two letter desigator, in addition to the exchange; for example KØBUD/HN for Hennepin County). W/VE & DX send name & state / province / country. Multipliers for MN is MN counties (87 total) plus states/provinces (49 states excluding Minnesota + 10 Canadian provinces + 2 Canadian Territorries = 61 W/VE mults total); 148 max multipliers (all bands) for MN stations. Multipliers for everyone else is MN counties (87 total). DXCC countries may be worked for points only - no multipliers.

5. Scoring:

Score 1 QSO point for SSB (VHF class SSB/FM) QSO, 2 QSO points for CW/RTTY QSO. Final score is QSO points total times multiplier total. VHF class, no repeater QSOs allowed.

6. Operating Classes-MN:

Single Op Low Power (150 W or less) Single Op High Power Single Op QRP (5 Watts or less) Single Op VHF Mobile/Portable Multi Op/Single Transmitter All classes mixed modes only. HF & VHF classes are separate can not be combined; however multiple logs (one HF, one VHF) may be entered in two classes (scores cannot be combined). The Minnesota Wireless Association is sponsoring the MN Club aggregate trophy, which will travel year to year to the club with the highest collective point total submitted by it’s members (who MUST SPECIFY club affiliation on the summary sheets turned in with the log).

7. Operating Classes-W/VE:

Single Op Low Power (150 W or less) Single Op High Power Single Op QRP (5 Watts or less)

8. Operating Classes-DX:

Unlimited.

9. Suggested Frequencies-CW:

Up from 1.810, 3.550, (3.695), 7.050, (7.110), 14.050, 21.050, (21.150), 28.050, (28.150), 50.050 ** NOTE ** Suggested "go to" times for 160 m are 1430 & 2330 UTC.

10. Suggested Frequencies-SSB:

Up from 1.870, 3.890, 7.230, 14.290, 21.390, 28.420, 50.150 ** NOTE ** Suggested "go to" times for 160 m are 1430 & 2330 UTC.

11. Suggested Frequencies-RTTY:

Within the ARRL suggested band plans for all bands.

13. Prizes:

1st place in each MN & W/VE class receives plaque, plus a special gift from the state of Minnesota; 2nd & 3rd places receive certificate. 1st place in each DX class receive certificate, plus a special gift from the state of Minnesota. ** NOTE - Plaques & prizes are awarded in categories in which there are at least 5 or more entries only. **

The 87 counties of Minnesota are each assigned a 2 letter designator - these should be used if designing a template for your contest software of choice.
