7th JARTS WW RTTY Contest

Occurs on third full weekend in October.

CONTEST PERIOD:

0000 UTC Saturday 17th October, 1998
to
2400 UTC Sunday 18th October, 1998
(48 hrs)

No OFF periods required.

BANDS:

80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 m.

JA RTTY BAND SEGMENTS:

80 m	3.520 --- 3.525 MHz <-- note!
40 m	7.025 --- 7.040 MHz <-- note!
20 m	14.070 -- 14.112 MHz
15 m	21.070 -- 21.125 MHz
10 m	28.070 -- 28.150 MHz

MODE:

Baudot (RTTY) only.

OPERATOR CLASSES:

A) Single Operator, All Band

B) Multi-Operator, All Band, (Multi TX Permitted)

C) SWL, All band

MESSAGE EXCHANGE:

RST + Operator’s age. (00 acceptable for YL and XYL).
Multi-op stations must send 99 as operator age.

QSO POINTS:

Two (2) points for QSOs within your own continent.
Three (3) points for QSOs outside your own continent.

MULTIPLIER:

A: Each DXCC country except JA/W/VE/VK mainland.
B: Each call area in JA/W/VE/VK.

Each multiplier is counted only once per band.
You can count your own country or call area as a multiplier.

FINAL SCORE:

Total QSO points x total multipliers. (Same for SWL’s).

AWARDS:

First place plaques to top winner in all three classes.
First through third place certificates, all three classes in each continent.
Special award for 17th from last, in all three classes.

Note: Awards will be only be issued based on 20 or more participants in each class.

LOGS and SUMMARY:

The logs to contain: BAND, DATE/TIME UTC, CALLSIGN, RST/AGE sent and received, MULTIPLIERS, and POINTS claimed. Any entry making more than 200 QSOs must submit a duplicate checksheet.

Use separate logsheets for each band and include a Summary Sheet showing the scoring, class, your call, name and address. Multi-Op stations please include names and callsigns of all ops.

Logsheets and Summary sheets are available from Contest Manager, JH1BIH.

DEADLINE:

Logs must be received by December 31, 1998.
