SM3CER Contest Service - Rules
Italian YLRC Elettra Marconi International Contest
All licensed YL/OM-operators and SWL:s throughout the world are invited to participate. Contacts to be between: YL - YL, YL - OM, OM - OM. No QSO:s via repeater, crossband or crossmode.
Starts: Saturday, 5th April, 1997 at 1300 UTC.
Ends: Sunday, 6th April, 1997 at 1300 UTC.
Modes: Phone
Mixed (Phone - CW - RTTY).
Separate contests.
Frequencies: Bands to be used are: 3.5 - 7 - 14 - 21 - 28 MHz only.

  • Single YL operator - Phone
  • Single OM operator - Phone
  • Foreign OM/YL - Phone
  • SWL - Phone
  • Single YL operator - Mixed
  • Single OM operator - Mixed
  • Foreign OM/YL - Mixed
  • SWL - Mixed
Procedure: Phone: Call "CQ YL, CQ OM, ELETTRA MARCONI CONTEST"
CW: Call "CQ YL, OM, TEST" (YL:s are adviced to add /XYL to their callsign; i.e. I2KYM/XYL. This will make identification of an YL calling on CW.
Exchanges: RS(T) and serial number starting at 001
IYLRC E. Marconi members will add "RC" (Radio Club);
i.e. 001 RC
Scores:
  • 1 point for each OM contacted.
  • 2 points for each YL non member contacted.
  • 3 points for each YL member of IYLRC contacted.
Each station may be counted only once per band.
Multipliers: A multiplier of 1 for each DXCC Country per band.
Final score: Total QSO points x total number of multipliers.
SWL rules: Each station may be counted only once per band as principal station (station calling on the frequency you are listening on), and no more than 3 times on each band as a correspondent.
SWL scores:
  • QSO heard between OM - OM ..... 1 point
  • QSO heard between OM - YL ..... 2 points
  • QSO heard between YL - YL ..... 3 points
There is no difference between YL member and YL not member. Multipliers are not valid.
Logs: Operators participating in both contests (Phone and Mixed) please use separate logs, starting at 001, on each mode indipendently. Use separate log sheets for each band. Log must show: Date, UTC time, Band and Mode, Callsign worked, Report and serial number sent and received, Points claimed, Possible multipliers and Final score. Logs must be signed and show full name, callsign and address of operator. Please don't forget to specify if you are an OM or an YL member of IYLRC or not. Logs to be sent within 30 days from the end of the contest (date of dispatch postmark will bear witness) to the Contest Manager:

The decision of Contest Manager will be final. Logs, which do not comply with the above requirements will be disqualified. Logs reaching the Contest Manager after the date arranged will be considered as check-logs.

Prizes: A cup will be awarded to:
  • SSB - Top score single foreign OM/YL
  • SSB - Top score single Italian YL
  • SSB - Top score single Italian OM
  • SSB - Top score SWL
  • MIXED - Same categories as above.
